Forces combine to help Diabetics
Since August 2008 SRI has been assisting members of Diabetes NZ Auckland by giving advice on getting insurance for themselves and their immediate families, that is, policies for life, disability, trauma and health insurance.
We strive to achieve a prompt 48-hour pre-assessment turnaround to provide an expert indication of the cost and Terms they are likely to be offered. This minimises the frustration levels that many people with diabetes experience when they apply for insurance cover. See diabetes for further information and the most recent Testimonial from one of their members, Mihiteria King.
We cannot provide insurance for everyone, but we will always do our very best to give quality information.
Health Insurance
We encourage you to read the published article above titled, "The Right Health Insurance Policy". There are some really important issues in this and pitfalls to be alerted to.
One of the most common insurance inquiries we receive is from people wanting Health Insurance. Sadly, in many cases we often cannot provide anything other than expert advice. Typically, we are advising them they MUST keep their existing policies because of the nasty "pre-existing conditions" clause that exists within individual policies - unlike "workplace" covers.
However, we can and do arrange health insurance for some people with an Exclusion, e.g. here is a typical policy Exclusion wording for Type 2 diabetes: "Any consultations, investigations or treatment in relation to Diabetes Mellitus and associated disorders, and/or any complications thereof, including but not limited to impaired glucose tolerance, cardiovascular disease, cerebrovascular disease, perripheral vascular disease, retinopathy, neuropathy or renal disease."
Regardless of these warnings, don't be put off totally and seek our opinion.
Living with the AIDS Virus
Recent publications have stated that many people with the AIDS virus are unlikely to suffer from any HIV-related adverse health events for over a decade or more these days. Thankfully for those with this virus are able to live a much improved quality of life, thanks medical research and the drugs available.
As a result, we have been successful in placing Life Insurance, with a Limited Term, for those successfully treated and staying well. Contact us for more information or read more. |
